4-H
Are You Into It?
Central Elementary's 4-H Club is one of the top clubs
in Ouachita Parish. the club, which meets monthly, is made up of fourth
and fifth grade students that choose their own officers for the year. community
service is a big part of the club's activities. Throughout the year students
collect items for the Louisiana Baptist Children's Home, River Cities Humane
Society, Salvation Army, and they also participate in the United States
Military Mail Campaign. Central Elementary students have their first opportunity
to participate in an extracurricular activity by joining 4-H. It is an
ideal experience for them in their preparation to attend the middle school
and high school.
Brave
Council
Brave council is Central's name for the student government
association. It is composed of fifth grade students who earned A's and
B's during the first six weeks grading period. The students are required
to maintain A's and B's for the remainder of the year. Students sponsor
several community service projects throughout the year. They collect items
for different civic organizations and help to sponsor various activities
at Central. Brave Council was organized to establish leadership, responsibility,
and good character in our students.
